2 wanted in MB for attempted robbery along Withers Dr.

Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Police in Myrtle Beach are working to track down two men believed to be involved in an attempted strong armed robbery on Withers Drive Saturday.

Officers were dispatched to 1105 N. Ocean Blvd. on Saturday just before 10:30 p.m. where they met a 27-year-old male victim who said two men tried to steal his gold chain, valued at $2,000.

The victim told police he was walking northbound on Withers Alley near 14th Avenue North when two men approached him, grabbed his gold chain and pulled it off of the victim's neck. The victim said he began wrestling and punching one of the suspects.

A police report states as he was wrestling one of the suspects, the other attempted to reach in his pocket. After a minute of fighting, the victim was able to retrieve his necklace and the suspects ran away.

Both suspects are described as black males, ranging from 18-20 years of age and standing 5'10".

One suspect, according to police, had dreadlocks and a tattoo on his forearm. He was wearing a long white T-shirt, blue jeans and a red bandana around his wrist at the time of the attempted robbery.

The second is described as having a fade haircut and was wearing a long white T-shirt, jean shorts and holding a red bandana in his back pocket during the incident.

Anyone with information on the identity of either suspect is asked to call the Myrtle Beach Police Department immediately.
