Mullins, SC - MULLINS, SC (WMBF) - Bond has been denied Monday for a fourth suspect arrested in connection to a murder-for-hire plot in Mullins, according to Solicitor Ed Clements.

Police arrested Devarius Brantley in connection to the death of Kanisha McLaughlin, whose body was found inside of the Imperial Motel in 2008. Investigators allege Brantley was the man who paid to have McLaughlin killed.

Brantley was arrested during a law enforcement round-up in Marion County on March 24.

"We've investigated every possible lead, looked under every bush and left no stone unturned," Clements said.  "We were able to finally arrest the man that we thought was the money man who financed the hit. That was Mr. Brantley and we arrested him a few weeks ago."

Brantley and three others have been charged with murder in connection to the woman's death. The additional suspects, however, have yet to face their charges in a court of law.

Clements said more arrests in the case are possible.
