Conway, SC - CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - An 18-year-old Conway teen has been arrested and charged for his alleged role in a fight at a local shopping center on May 13.

Catina Hipp, spokeswoman for the Conway Police Department, said Davonte Shepard surrendered to police on Friday without incident and was charged with discharging a firearm into a dwelling.

Conway Police responded to 2300 Church St. just after 4 p.m. on May 13 in reference to a fight with possible shots fired. Upon arrival, police spoke with a number of people and learned the incident stemmed from a large group of people arguing in the parking lot of the Bay Village Shopping Center.

An investigation has led police to believe Shepard was the triggerman who fired a shot during the altercation that struck the front window of the Conway Adult Daycare. No injuries, however, were reported.

Shepard was charged with discharging a firearm into a dwelling in connection to the incident. He has since appeared before Judge Jame Mackey and has received a $10,000 surety bond for his charge.
