Students, teachers gear up for summer school in Florence

Florence, SC - FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Officials with Florence School District One have announced summer school schedules for students at the middle and high school levels.

Pam Little-McDaniel, spokeswoman for the district, said summer school courses for middle school students will be held Monday through Thursday from June 2-July 29. Students will meet from 8 a.m. until 12:10 p.m. at Sneed, Southside and Williams.

Students may register on the first day of classes. Courses include English, mathematics, science and social studies.

Summer school for high school credit recovery will be held June 7-July 28 from 8 a.m. to noon. Students will also have the opportunity to attend classes from 1 to 5 p.m. Classes will be held at South Florence, West Florence and Wilson high schools.

Florence One students may register for the classes on June 7, which will be offered through computer-based instructional system Novanet.
