FLORENCE, SC – Francis Marion University senior left-handed pitcher Michaela Wolf and junior right fielder Chelle Phillips have been selected to the second-team Daktronics Inc. All-Southeast Region softball team. Wolf was also named to the team in the designated player position, as well as the pitcher's spot.

Wolf, a native of Littleton, Colo., compiled a 22-9 pitching record with one save and a 2.13 earned run average. She completed 28 of her 31 starts and struck out 172 batters in 197.1 innings of work. She walked only 47 batters and opponents hit just .250 against her.

She is the only Patriot hurler in the history of the program to win 20 games more than once in a career – and she did it four times. She owns nearly all the FMU career pitching records, including wins (92), appearances (151), complete games (108), shutouts (25), innings (897.2), and strikeouts (755).

At the plate this season, Wolf hit a team-best .395 with 18 runs scored, eight doubles, four home runs, and 34 runs batted in – the second highest total on the squad. She also owned a .521 on-base percentage, which ranked second in the Peach Belt Conference.

Wolf was also a second-team All-Region pick in 2009.

Phillips, a native of Waukee, Iowa, batted .349 with 47 runs scored in 52 games. She recorded 10 doubles, three triples, two home runs, and drove in 31 runs. She led the team with 12 sacrifices, was second on the team with 13 stolen bases (in 14 attempts), and registered a .405 on-base percentage.

The pair helped lead Francis Marion to a 36-16 record and the program's second NCAA Tournament appearance in three years. The 36 victories equal the fifth-highest season win total in program history. FMU reached the championship game of the both the Peach Belt Conference Tournament and the NCAA Southeast Subregional Tournament.
