North Myrtle Beach, SC - NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The United States Basketball Association (USBA) has chosen North Myrtle Beach as the location for its national championship tournament.
"The city of North Myrtle Beach and the North Myrtle Beach Chamber are always very welcoming, and we look forward to being back in a great city with so many great things to do. We are certainly glad to be here again in 2010," said USBA Executive VP John Whitley.
The basketball tournament will be held for girls (ages 9-17) June 22-26, 2010; boys (ages 14-17) July 5-10 and boys (9-13) July 12-17. More than 14,000 people are expected to visit the North Myrtle Beach area during the three-week championships, and more than 15 states from across the U.S. and Canada will be represented.
"For their national championships, all of the teams will be staying in North Myrtle Beach," NMB Chamber President/CEO Marc Jordan said. "This group has a great economic impact on our community. We look forward to hosting USBA for their national championships every year."
