Tree trimmer dead after fall from truck

PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WMBF) - A tree trimmer in Pawleys Island fell 60 feet to his death Wednesday morning, according to Midway Fire Rescue spokesman Bob Beebe.

Beebe said the man was trimming trees around 11:30 a.m. on Sleepy Hollow Place when he fell 60 feet from a bucket truck. The man was identified as Bill Hucks, 48, of Galivants Ferry.

Hucks was the owner of Hucks Tree Service based in Galivants Ferry.

The Johnson Funeral Home in Aynor has been placed in charge of Hucks' funeral services. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home. The funeral will take place Saturday at Bakers Chapel Baptist Church at 2 p.m.
