Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Atlanta Braves and Greenberg Sports Group, which includes the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and State College Spikes.
The 2010 California-Carolina League All-Star Game, to be played on June 22, 2010 at BB&T Coastal Field, will be televised on the entire Fox Sports South network, which includes Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Carolinas and Fox Sports Tennessee. The Fox Sports South network reaches 12.9 million households in seven Southeastern states and is the television home of the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Bobcats, and other professional teams and collegiate conferences. The game will be broadcast live on June 22 and will be re-aired on June 23 and 26. The promotion includes a series of advertisements run on Fox Sports South during Atlanta Braves games and other programs.
"Televising the California-Carolina League All-Star Game on the Fox Sports South network enhances the prestige of the event and provides a three-hour reinforcement of what a fantastic vacation destination Myrtle Beach is to viewers within driving distance of the Grand Strand," remarked Pelicans GM Scotty Brown. "Baseball fans love fun, and the partnership with all three teams will lure new visitors to our area."
The State College Spikes, a Class A affiliate in University Park, PA, operated by Greenberg Sports Group, will host a "Myrtle Beach Night" on July 22. The promotion will include advertising and publicity before and during the game, and a free Myrtle Beach vacation will be given away during the game.
The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber will also be the series sponsor of the Atlanta Braves-Pittsburgh Pirates series during Memorial Day Weekend at Turner Field in Atlanta, GA. The partnership will include:
- 10,000 Myrtle Beach-branded giveaways at the May 30 game;
- Distribution of Myrtle Beach area vacation guides at each game;
- Beach-themed giveaways in Turner Field Fan Plaza to attendees;
- Inclusion in Braves' television and print promotional announcements;
- In-stadium signage throughout the series;
- Full-page color ad in the series program.
