Robinson Nuclear Plant warns residents of siren test

HARTSVILLE, SC (WMBF) - Officials with Progress Energy are asking residents not to be alarmed as the Robinson Nuclear Plant tests its alert notification system on Thursday.

The test will be between 1 and 3 p.m. The sirens will sound for about 15 seconds at least one time. Progress Energy conducts this test every three months.

In the event of an actual emergency, the sirens would alert the public to tune to local radio and television stations for information.
