Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A 27-year-old man is facing charges after he admitted to stealing a bullet from a police vehicle, according to a report from the Myrtle Beach Police.
Rodney Wayne Rowan was arrested Saturday on charges of public intoxication. During a search of a shoulder bag in Rowan's possession, officers found a .40-caliber unfired hollow-point bullet. The report states when investigators asked if he had a weapon that would fire the bullet, "he made the spontaneous statement that he took the bullet from a police vehicle he was vacuuming at his place of work between two and three weeks ago." Rowan told officers he took the bullet from an unmarked vehicle from a car wash at 2304 S. Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach.
Rowan pleaded guilty to public intoxication and petit larceny.
