Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - WMBF News is proud to announce the hiring of a new news director and a new marketing director.
Kristin Hargis joined WMBF News on April 12 as the station's marketing director. Hargis is a Kentucky native and graduate of the University of Kentucky in Lexington. She has worked in marketing at three NBC affiliates, including Raycom Media's affiliate WAVE in Louisville, KY and most recently WSMV in Nashville, TN.
Hargis says she is excited to be working with such a community-oriented television station and is eager to show viewers everything that WMBF News has to offer.
Sarah Miles will join WMBF News on May 24 as news director. Miles is originally from the Chicago area and is a graduate of Illinois State University. For the past eight years she has worked her way up the ranks at Raycom Media's affiliate WAVE in Louisville, KY. Prior to joining WAVE Sarah worked at WEHT, WTVW and WEVV in Evansville, IN. She started her TV career at WHOI in Peoria,IL.
Miles is excited about joining WMBF News and is bringing fresh ideas to the station.
"I'm thrilled with the chance to join the talented team at WMBF News and look forward to taking the great newscasts you watch each day and making them even better by focusing on issues that are important to the community," Miles said.
Miles will be joined in the Grand Strand by her husband Scott and two daughters, Kila, 4, and Mattingly, 18 months.
Miles is taking the reins from Matt Miller, who joined WMBF News as its first news director in 2008. Miller has been named the new news director at WXIX, a sister station in Cincinnati.
