Loris, SC - LORIS, SC (WMBF) - Police in Loris have arrested a 17-year-old in connection to the beating of a 73-year-old woman outside of Loris Hospital last week.

Chief Joseph Vaught of the Loris Police Department said officers were dispatched to Loris Hospital after the woman's daughter found her lying in the parking lot around 9 p.m. Police believe the woman was struck and beaten by one of the suspects before reaching her car.

The 73-year-old from Loris, whose identity has not been released, was visiting her husband who was receiving medical treatment at the hospital.

Vaught reported in addition to the assault, the woman's 2000 Chevrolet Monticarlo was stolen by the suspects.
