(NBC) - A man has been charged with attempted murder after police say he attacked a woman with a knife on the campus of Maine's Husson University.
The woman was saved by a group of female students who not only called for help, but tackled the man to the ground.
Police say Horst Wolk attacked the female student as she arrived on campus around 7:30 Wednesday morning.
During the attack, a group of women saw what was happening, tackled Wolk to the ground and held him there until police arrived.
Jessie Hladick says her marine and police officer brothers taught her how to defend herself.
"Kind of thought back to what they always talked to me about so we just tried to put some stuff together to hit a couple pressure points and get the knife out of his hand, and then he was on the ground and we were on him," Hladick said.
Horst Wolk is being charged with attempted murder, elevated aggravated assault and violating a protection order.
