NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – People gathered in North Myrtle Beach to observe the 59th annual National Day of Prayer.
The day is observed every year on the first Thursday of May. Several different church groups that make up the Upper Grand Strand Ministry Alliance gathered for the event at the North Myrtle Beach Town Hall.
They say this is just another opportunity to get together and pray for the state and the community.
"At a time when our state is going through so much economic hardship, I think it's so important that we come together. Everybody comes together all the different ministries come together, able to pray across all denominational lines and barriers," said Pastor Dr. Charles Randall.
The Grand Strand Ministry Alliance also meets once a month to address local needs and issues.
