Florence, SC - FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - A Wilson High School graduate who has made his way into the rankings of pro football will be visiting two schools in Florence School District One on Friday.
District spokeswoman Pam Little-McDaniel announced Lawrence Timmons, of the Pittsburgh Steelers, is expected to give a congratulatory nod to students at Moore Intermediate School at 9:30 a.m. Friday. The school placed first in South Carolina in the "Fuel Up to Play 60" program.
Timmons' second stop will be at South Florence High School at 10:30 a.m., where his mother is employed. Audrey Timmons works with orthopedically-challenged children and is developing a special camp for students with special needs.
Camp Rae, according to officials, is a summer day camp for children who are wheelchair bound with multiple disabilities.
Timmons is slated to make a donation to Camp Rae on Friday.
