Molten hot lava is creeping across the Big Island

Kalapana, HI - (NBC) - Madam Pele is making her presence known as molten lava from Hawaii's Kilauea Volcano continues to creep along the big island.

The glowing red rock is not only repaving a highway, but posing a fire danger to brush surrounding the roadway.

Some area residents are nervous, but officials say there is no immediate danger to nearby homes.

However, as a precaution a local beach area is closed as the liquid lava oozes into the ocean.
