Surfside Beach town administrator announces resignation

Surfside Beach, SC - SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Surfside Beach Town Administrator Ed Booth has resigned from his position Tuesday, citing personal issues influenced the decision.

Booth made his resignation official in a letter to the Surfside Beach Town Council and pledged to tie up any loose ends and projects before his last day on May 11. Booth said he'll address final evaluations for department managers, process CTC funding paperwork and help finalize the opening of the Surfside Beach Dog Park.

In addition to personal reasons, Booth wrote that over the last six months, it has become "apparent that the Town Council and [he] are moving in different directions."

Surfside Beach Town Clerk Sharon Pinnell said Surfside Beach Executive Assistant Micki Fellner will take over Booth's duties as interim town manager on May 12.

Booth served as the town's administrator for more than three years.
