Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - One man is wanted by police in Myrtle Beach on an assault charge after allegedly hitting an 18-year-old in the head with a handgun.
Officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department were dispatched to an address on Osceola Street following reports of a person who had been hit in the head with a handgun. Upon arrival, police found an 18-year-old victim bleeding from the left side of his head.
The victim told police as he was attempting to leave the Sandygate apartment building to help a friend move, a gold car pulled into the parking lot and blocked the victim's car. The victim said he got out of the vehicle to confront the suspect, who he had identified as a friend.
The victim alleges when the suspect exited the vehicle, he was holding what appeared to be a black handgun and swung at him on a number of occasions. The victim suffered two lacerations to the left-side of his head, in addition to bleeding and swelling.
Police and victim descriptions identified the aggressor as Jose Noel Guiterrez, 18, of Myrtle Beach. Officials say Guiterrez will be charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature in connection to the incident.
