Police, FBI investigate bank robbery in NMB

North Myrtle Beach, SC - NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Police in North Myrtle Beach are on the hunt for a man they say robbed a Carolina First Bank Friday afternoon.

City spokeswoman Nicole Aiello says a white male entered the Carolina First bank, located at 1801 Hwy. 17 S., at 2:30 p.m. Friday demanding cash. The suspect, who bank tellers feared had a gun, left with an undisclosed amount of money.

The North Myrtle Beach Public Safety Department describes the wanted suspect as a heavy-set white male in his late 50s with graying hair. The man was wearing a fedora-like hat, dark windbreaker jacket, a dark shirt and blue jeans at the time of the robbery. He also wore a piece of fabric over his face with the eyes cut out, which was tucked into his hat.
