HORRY COUNTY, SC - During halftime at football and soccer games at Carolina Forest High School, the teams clear their benches and head for the end zone.
The locker rooms and other facilities are so far from the stadium, they serve no purpose during games. Players, officials and spectators share bathrooms and there is no official place to take an injured player.
All of this will be changing soon.
The school board has approved the construction of field houses at six schools in the district which currently do not have a field house. Conway and Aynor already have field houses and are not part of the project.
Loris, Socastee, St. James, North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach and Carolina Forest will soon benefit from the new infrastructure.
