Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A conference highlighting the work of criminal profilers from around the world will be held in Myrtle Beach next week, according to officials with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
Agency spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons says SLED will be hosting the 2010 International Criminal Investigative Analysis Fellowship at the Marina Inn at Grand Dunes from May 3-7.
The conference is expected to bring together law enforcement experts who will discuss training, research and re-certification for criminal profilers, in addition to analyzing unsolved criminal investigations submitted by investigators during the conference.
Conference attendees include members of the FBI, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Texas Rangers under the Texas Department of Public Safety, Virginia State Police and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Officials say the training will allow law enforcement officers to provide additional assessments and testimony in criminal investigations or court proceedings.
