Veterinarian removes arrow from Canada goose

Toms River, NJ - (NBC) - A Canada goose pierced by an arrow recently made an extremely lucky landing.

The bird plopped down in the yard of Dr. Bernard Levine, a retired New Jersey veterinarian.

Levine and his family called local wildlife officials who helped them trap the bird. Then the good doctor took it to the practice he founded and removed the arrow.

After a brief recovery period at a local bird sanctuary the goose was released back into the wild.
