Get out your dancing shoes for 5th annual Georgetown Shag Festival

Georgetown, SC - GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) – The Georgetown Lunch Rotary Club will soon be holding its popular Rotary Shag Festival.

The fifth annual shag festival kicks off May 1. This year's festival will be a street dance on King Street in historic downtown Georgetown, with The Band of Oz providing music for the event.

The festival will benefit Alzheimer's research and other community projects.

Food and beverages will be available throughout the evening. There will also be a shag refresher course offered at 6 p.m. before the band kicks off at 7 p.m.

Tickets are on sale and may be purchased at the Georgetown and Pawleys Island Chamber offices, and the UPS Store on Highmarket in Georgetown. They are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets may also be purchased from any member of the Georgetown Lunch Rotary Club.
