United Way volunteers fill 1,000 bags full of essentials

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Volunteers from the United Way gathered at the Myrtle Beach Mall Wednesday to fill 1,000 bags to give homebound senior citizens throughout Horry County.

Each bag contained 10 essential items, which included products such as shampoo, soap and toothpaste.  The United Way is hoping the bags will last each senior up to six months.

The Horry County Council on Aging and Mobile Meals of the Grand Strand will deliver the bags later in the week.
