Myrtle Beach, SC - By Rob Blomquist

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A woman escaped her attacker and had her car stolen Tuesday, according to a report from the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

According to the woman that reported the attack to police, she was on her way home from work around 3 a.m.

The woman says she pulled off the road into a Santee Cooper Maintenance Yard parking lot on Mr. Joe White Ave to grab her phone from the trunk of her car. As she was grabbing her phone, a man grabbed her and forced her into her vehicle, before taking her to the Booker T. Washington area of Myrtle Beach.

There, he tried to remove her clothing as he struggled to drag her out of the car and up to an apartment.

During the struggle, the woman was able to escape from the man, who then drove off in her vehicle.
