Conway, SC - CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - A Conway man accused of beating his wife to death on April 14 has been released from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a $50,000 bond, according to jail records.

Dan Monarch, 53, of Conway, was arrested and charged with murder after the body of his wife was found in a ditch off of New Road in Conway. The Horry County Crime Scene and bloodhound Team located the body of Phyllis Monarch, 49, hours after she was reported as missing.

The Horry Independent reports Dan Monarch consented to a bond agreement and was released from jail Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m.

Horry County Assistant Solicitor Heather von Herrmann says the 53-year-old will be under house arrest and has been ordered not to contact the victim's family.
