Lamar teen turns self in to Hartsville Police

Hartsville, SC - HARTSVILLE, SC (WMBF) - A man wanted in connection to an armed robbery in a Hartsville hotel parking lot Saturday night turned himself in to Hartsville Police early Wednesday morning.

Colin Vincent Toney Jr., of Lamar, called authorities saying he wanted to turn himself in around 12:30 a.m. He was charged with armed robbery and possession of weapon during a crime of violence.

Hartsville Police Chief Tim Kemp says officers were dispatched to a location on South Fourth Street after a woman reported being robbed at gunpoint. Police tracked a suspect vehicle down in Hartsville and a brief chase ensued. The chase ended when the vehicle ran off the road.

Following the accident, police arrested Donald Cornell Carter, 17, of Bishopville. The passenger in the car, identified as Toney, fled on foot.
