Marion County, SC - MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A company that re-manufactures landing gear and gear components was formally welcomed to South Carolina Monday by state and local officials.
According to the Marion County Economic Development Center, the addition of ACAS Landing Gear Services to Marion County will invest $5 million in the area. The establishment of the new facility, located in the former Sara Lee building in Marion, will create up to 300 new jobs.
ACAS currently services the Boeing 707, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767 and 777 aircrafts. The company also provides aircraft capabilities for Airbus and array of military and commercial aircraft.
"We are pleased to continue moving forward with our plans for our new Marion facility and looking forward to getting operations online. This facility represents an important step for our company. We have already received a warm initial welcome to the state and continue to appreciate all the support we've received as we work to bring our plans to fruition," said Gary Partin, CEO of ACAS Landing Gear Services.
