COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) - South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford is headed to Darlington County Monday to meet with first responders to a storm that damaged parts of Darlington County Sunday evening.
Sanford is planning to discuss with Emergency Management Division leaders and other law enforcement and medical team members their ongoing efforts in response to Sunday's tornado touchdowns. Reports from Darlington County at this point indicate there to be extensive property damage, power outages, and a limited number of injuries.
Sanford will be meeting with Darlington County Administrator Phyllis Griffitts, Allen Haynes and Mac McDonald with Darlington County Emergency Management, and other county officials beginning at 10 a.m. at the Darlington County Emergency Operations Center.
