MYRTLE BEACH,SC (WMBF) – Live music kicked off the very first Myrtle Beach FAME Festival on Saturday.
FAME stands for Food, Arts, Music and Entertainment, and the festival took place on Broadway Street in Myrtle Beach.
Businesses say they are glad the rain didn't keep everyone away.
Jan Haga owns Howard Gallery on Broadway Street, and she hopes the festival returns next year.
"I just think it's good for the city to have things that's good for the whole family," she said. "The whole family can come out and enjoy the arts and there's jumping things for the kids and there's food- it's just a nice family event.
