Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A 21-year-old Kentucky man is in trouble with the law after Myrtle Beach Police say he attempted to pass counterfeit money at two Broadway at the Beach nightclubs.
Myrtle Beach Police were dispatched to Froggy Bottomz just after midnight on Thursday in reference to the counterfeit money after a man, later identified as Daniel Ray Maxam, of Winchester, KY, paid for $34.75 in drinks with the fake $100 bill.
Police say a bartender admitted to checking and accepting the bill, which she said at the time appeared to be heavily worn.
The responding officers were informed Maxam had been taken into custody at Senor Frogs for a similar incident and was caught with a matching counterfeit $100 bill.
The 21-year-old faces forgery charges in connection to the incident.
