MBPD traffic checkpoint leads to 1 arrest, 25 citations

Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A traffic safety checkpoint carried out along South Ocean Boulevard on Thursday led to one arrest and 25 citations.

Sgt. John Bertang, traffic supervisor of the Myrtle Beach Police Department, says alongside the 25 citations issued to drivers, one warning was issued and two tows occurred.

Of the 25 citations handed out by Myrtle Beach officers, nine were driver's license violations, five involved registration violations, four people were cited for equipment violations and seven were cited for insurance violations.

In all, 451 vehicles were examined during the checkpoint.
