Horry County, SC - AYNOR, SC (WMBF) - Leaders are hoping a new $1.6 million building in an industrial park strategically placed in Horry County will bring new businesses to the growing area.
The Cool Spring Shell Building is expected to open for business following a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 27 at 10 a.m. along Highway 319 and Cool Spring Drive in Aynor.
The building, which sits 35 miles from Interstate 95 and 29 miles from the Myrtle Beach International Airport, occupies 3.75 acres in the park and was funded by the Horry Electric Cooperative from the Rural Development Act.
The building is a joint effort between Horry County, Burroughs & Chapin, the Town of Aynor, Horry Electric Cooperative, Grand Strand Water & Sewer Authority and the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Cooperation.
Officials say the 58,000-square foot space can be utilized for manufacturing or warehouse space and is available for purchase.
