Belton man charged for distribution of child pornography

Columbia, SC - COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) – An Anderson County man has been arrested following an investigation and is now facing charges related to child pornography.

Christopher Wayne Picklesimer, 37, of Belton, was arrested April 19 for the distribution of child pornography. According to authorities, he shared digital photographs and videos over the Internet depicting children engaged in sex acts.

Picklesimer's computer was seized and forensically examined by the Anderson Police Department and files containing those images were found on that computer. He was given a $20,000 bond.

Picklesimer is charged with five counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony offense punishable by two to ten years for each count.

The Anderson Police Department is a member of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Task Force investigators have received training on the use of special software to conduct undercover investigations related to the sharing of child pornography on peer-to-peer, or file sharing networks.
