Grand Strand Humane Society hosting "20 Dogs in 20 Days"

Myrtle Beach, SC -

MURRELLS INLET, SC (WMBF) – The Grand Strand Humane Society is hosting a number of fundraising events to help out our four-legged friends in April and May.

The shelter is holding a Lunch of Love at Carrabba's Italian Grill in Murrells Inlet on April 30.  They're inviting the public to come enjoy a dine-in or take-out meal from the restaurant. There will be two seatings, one from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the next from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The menu includes Caesar salad, chicken marsala with penne pomodoro and a choice of soda, tea or coffee. The cost is $10 per ticket and there will be a 50/50 raffle.

There will also be, of course, lots of dogs looking for a loving home.

Coming up on May 2, the shelter will be giving people a taste of Africa with their TIGERS fundraiser event. It will be held at the Wild Life Preserve from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Participants will be able to feed "Bubbles" the elephant, hold a baby tiger cub, play with an orangutan, watch tigers run  and swim and also get up close and personal with a liger.

Food and drinks will be served. Each group will also receive a photo CD documenting their adventure.

Tickets are $150 and are limited. They can be purchased at the Grand Strand Humane Society, located at 3241 Mr. Joe White Ave. in Myrtle Beach or by calling 843-918-4913.

All proceeds benefit the Grand Strand Humane Society.

These two events are running with the shelter's "20 Dogs in 20 Days." Between April 26 and May 21, they are offering a special discounted rate on the adoption of all dogs.
