Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Some of the Grand Strand's best chefs showed off their skills with students hoping to fill their shoes someday.
The "Trio Dinner" was held Monday night at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Each team, comprised of a high school student, college student and head chef, duked it out to make some of the best tasting dishes of the night.
"These chefs volunteer so much of their time, and people who come here to enjoy this food, donate to scholarships for these kids and also get the chance to enjoy some amazing food," said Jeffrey Wisniewski of the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association.
At the end of the night, the Waterscapes at Marina Inn at Grand Dunes team won the overall competition for their seared scallops.
The Carriage House at Litchfield Plantation won the People's Choice Award for their mustard-crusted flounder.
