MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A woman arrested last Thursday for a DUI is facing additional charges after assaulting a correctional officer at the Myrtle Beach Law Enforcement Center.

A Myrtle Beach Police report states 51-year-old Vicki Jo Abrams, of Sumter, threw a hot food tray at a correctional officer at 11:15 a.m. Thursday and screamed she would not eat the food. The officer reports the food went over her uniform, shoes, bare arms, face and hair.

An interview conducted by police regarding the incident led to an apology by Abrams, who was upset over the portion size of the food and her DUI charges received earlier in the day.

Abrams faces an additional assault and battery of a correctional officer charge as a result of the incident.
