MYRTLE BEACH,SC (WMBF) - Art in the Park opened for the season, showing off local and traveling artists. More than 60 tents were put up in Chapin Park to showcase everything from paintings to jewelry and clothing.
The North Myrtle Beach Humane Society was also there with a cat and dog selling food to benefit he shelter.
JoAnne Utterback, director of Art in the Park, says opening weekend was a success. She hopes Sunday's cooler temperatures keep people off of the beach and into the art fair.
"We actually had more artists turn out - about 50 percent more than last year at this time," she said. "The audience has been fantastic, the weather is gorgeous."
The next Art in the Park event will be April 24-25 at Market Common.
