Florence, SC - FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - A 31-year-old man has been convicted by a jury Friday following a week-long trial into the death of a man who was left on the side of the road on the 500 block of Dargen Street in Florence.
Ed Clements, 12th Circuit Court solicitor, says Gregory D. Daniels has been charged and convicted for the murder of Corey Byrd, who was found shot to death on Sept. 5, 2008. Through an investigation, police believe an argument between the victim and Daniels the day before the body was found.
Daniels was also charged with reckless driving and the possession of 28 grams or less of marijuana or 10 grams or less of hash. Police also booked him after his arrest on a possession of a weapon during a violent crime charge.
