MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Southern Asphalt may have pulled its sand mine application, but plans for another project on the same property are just unfolding.
Horry County Planning and Zoning has confirmed that a cell tower has been proposed for an 830 acre site off Gardner Lacy Road, the same tract that could have housed a controversial sand mine.
Janet Carter, director of planning and zoning said the proposed cell tower would be located in a different quadrant of the 830-acre property. It's not in the same 15-acre sand mine site, she said.
