Pet of the Week 4/18- Jax

Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Our Pet of the Week this week is sure to find a good home fast. Jax is a 4-year-old cocker spaniel.

Unlike most male cocker spaniels, Jax is actually quite small. He only weighs 20-25 pounds and is the perfect size for someone looking for a dog to cuddle with or a family looking for a dog to keep up with their hurried lifestyle.

Jax is mild-mannered but gives affection as if he'd been with you since the day he was born. He is healthy, neutered and seems to get along with everyone (children and other pets included.)

Jax is currently spending his days at the Grand Strand Humane Society, but if you'd like to meet him or any of the shelter's other animals, give them a call at 843-918-4912.

The Grand Strand Humane Society is also sponsoring a "20 Dogs in 20 Days" program. Sandy Brown, executive director at GSHS, says they are overwhelmed with the number of dogs they are caring for right now and the shelter staff is hoping to find loving homes for them. She wants to get at least one dog adopted per day in the next 20 days.

Brown encourages everyone to stop by the Grand Strand Humane Society and see the different types of dogs available. The Grand Strand Humane Society is located on Mr. Joe White Avenue behind The Ripken Experience.
