Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A 35-year-old Myrtle Beach man has pleaded guilty to committing a lewd act upon a child, according to 15th Judicial Circuit Assistant Solicitor Nancy Livesay.

Jason Allen Warney, 35, of Myrtle Beach, was arrested and booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on April 7 on charges of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Shortly after his arrest, officials say Warney pleaded guilty to committing a lewd act upon a child. Warney received a 15 year suspended sentence and is required to wear a GPS monitoring system for the rest of his life.

The lewd act charge, according to Livesay, carries a sentence of up to 15 years in jail, mandatory sex offender registration and continuous GPS monitoring.
