Myrtle Beach, SC - HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Police in Horry County have re-arrested a man charged in connection with operating a chop shop in late 2009. The arrest, according to Horry County Police, comes as part of an ongoing investigation.
An April 5 search warrant served on Hummingbird Court in Myrtle Beach led to the arrest of Scott Ari Relford, 40. During the execution of the warrant, detectives with the Horry County Police Department's Property Crimes Section recovered an enclosed trailer and household furniture. Both of the items, according to police, were reported stolen.
In addition to the trailer and furniture, detectives recovered prescription pills and anabolic steroids not belonging to Relford.
Relford has been charged with two counts of receiving stolen goods over $5,000, two counts of prescription drugs without a prescription and possession of anabolic steroids.
The 40-year-old's April 5 arrest isn't his first run-in with the law. Relford was also taken into custody on Dec. 21 on four charges of possessing, concealing, selling or disposing of a stolen vehicle. Records reveal he's also facing three charges relating to chop shop, altering, defacing or destroying a vehicle identification number.
