Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police are investigating after a 20-year-old woman reported she was handcuffed to her bed, bound and raped for nearly 12 hours Thursday.
According to a police report, the victim went to the Myrtle Beach Police Department around 6:30 p.m., saying when she returned home from work around 7 a.m. that morning the suspect, who has not been charged at this time, was waiting for her. She said the suspect, with whom she was acquainted and had been harassing her over the phone the previous day, handcuffed her to the bed and bound her feet with rope.
She said when she protested the suspect punched her in the left side and duct taped her mouth shut, later gagging her with a bandana. The victim told investigators the suspect raped her and repeatedly assaulted her throughout the day.
According to the report, the woman said the suspect cushioned the handcuffs with socks and replaced the rope with bandanas after several hours, and eventually freed her around 5:45 p.m., then left to purchase cigarettes.
The woman said she called a friend and left the apartment to report the crime.
Investigation into the report is ongoing at this time. WMBF News is withholding the name of the suspect pending official charges.
