Laurinburg, NC - SCOTLAND COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - Candidates for many Scotland County's hottest contended political races will answer questions Tuesday in a candidates forum.

The Laurinburg/Scotland County Area chamber of Commerce is hosting the event that is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, at the Scotland County Courthouse, 212 Biggs St. in Laurinburg.

Candidates from all the races have been asked to come speak, and answer questions from the public so that the voters have a better idea on who they want to vote for.

"We've had a lot of success with this forum," said Matt Kendall, chamber program director.  "Many times when going to vote, we just see names on paper, and can't put a face or voice to our candidates.  This way, the public can meet the candidates for key races in one setting, ask questions that are on everyone's minds, and find out what our candidates can do for Scotland County."

The chamber says they're not sure exactly who all will show up, but are expecting a large turn out on Tuesday.
