Carolinas, Tennessee students at CCU conference

Conway, SC - CONWAY, SC (AP) - Students from 13 colleges in the Carolinas and Tennessee gather in Conway Friday for a regional history conference.

The two-day conference opens Friday at Coastal Carolina University and includes lectures and panel discussions that are free and open to the public.

The keynote speaker is Vernon Burton, the Burroughs Professor of Southern History and Culture at Coastal Carolina.

Burton has written two books about Abraham Lincoln and will discuss the age of Lincoln during a Saturday address.
