Funeral service announced for victim of fatal US-17 crash

Horry County, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Funeral arrangements have been announced for a 25-year-old man visiting from Canada who died in a car crash Saturday on US-17 Business.

Police say a truck and SUV slammed into each other at the intersection of Grande Dunes and Kings Highway around 5:30 p.m. Several people were transported to area hospital, and the crash shut down traffic in all lanes for a couple of hours Saturday evening as crews worked to clear the area from debris.

Shane Terreberry was airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC, where he died hours after the crash from blunt force trauma.

Terreberry's family says the 25-year-old will be laid to rest in his hometown of Ontario on Friday. A memorial service for those who knew Terreberry along the Grand Strand will be held at Risen Christ Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. on April 18.

Investigators say Terreberry was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
