Radio talk show host brings message of mentoring to Pee Dee

Florence, SC - FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - The Michael Baisden Show will be broadcasting live from Florence Tuesday as part of the One Million Mentors Campaign, designed to encourage qualified adults to volunteer as mentors.

Baisden's campaign will be bringing a message of support for 14 million children in need of mentoring to 72 cities during the next seven months through the "Save Our Kids" bus tour. Baisden will be making a stop Tuesday at Wilson High School from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Representatives from local mentoring programs, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, The National CARES Mentoring Movement and 100 Black Men will be available to register qualified people for matching with Pee Dee children.

In addition to driving registration for new members, Baisden will also be raising funding for mentoring programs by matching contributions from participants up to $350,000.

The program is free and open to all ages. Any local 501 (c) 3 focused on mentoring is welcomed to participate, according to event organizers.
