Canadian dies following Hwy 17 car crash

Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A 25-year-old man visiting from Canada died from injuries following a car crash Saturday on US-17 Business.

Police say a truck and SUV slammed into each other at the intersection of Grande Dunes and Kings Highway around 5:30 p.m. Several people were transported to area hospital, and the crash shut down traffic in all lanes for a couple of hours Saturday evening as crews worked to clear the area from debris.

Shane Terreberry was airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC, where he died hours after the crash from blunt force trauma.

The other injured motorists were transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.

Myrtle Beach Police and Myrtle Beach Fire and Rescue are investigating the cause of the accident.
