(NBC) - Nissan fans will soon have the chance to purchase the company's newest car: The Leaf. Its an electronic powered car that will debut at the end of this year.
Nissan is counting on government subsidies to slash the cost to consumers for its mass-market bet on the electric car. The announcement comes at a time when Japan's biggest automaker Toyota is still working on damage control.
Nissan aims to sell 6,000 leaf cars. Nissan expects that ten percent of the world's auto market will be electric vehicles by the year 2020.
